The Broad Museum

Designed by Diller, Scofidio & Renfro, The Broad Museum in downtown Los Angeles will display the contemporary art collection of Eli and Edythe Broad. The project includes gallery spaces, art storage and offices on top of three levels of below grade parking.

Responsibilities:

Our staff is providing cost consulting for The Broad, including review of general contractor requests for change order, contingency transfers, review of proposed budgets and scope of changes and other cost issues.

Susan A. Nelson Performing Arts Center

The Susan A. Nelson Performing Arts center consisted of a complete renovation of Webb’s 1970’s auditorium into a state-of-the-art performing arts venue. The building was completely transformed with the scope of work including structural upgrades, a reconfigured stage, revised slabs on grade providing terraced seating, addition of a control booth, a new catwalk, completely new fixtures/finishes, new audio visual, new theater equipment, all new mechanical/electrical/plumbing systems, renovated bathrooms, completely renovated classrooms flanking the theater, a new building façade and a complete rework of the surrounding pedestrian plazas and landscape. The project was completed on schedule and on budget in 9 months in advance of the 2013/2014 school year.

Responsibilities:

Our staff provided cost consulting, program management, entitlement management, design management and on-site construction management services.

Fox Studios – Building 310

Century City, California

Design and construction of a new 48,000 SF four-story structure housing the Fox Studios Grip Department on the lowest level with two floors of leasable office space and one floor of permanent office space above. The project was built in the middle of the operating 20th Century Fox Studio lot and was required to comply with all conditions of a complex development agreement under which the lot was governed.

Responsibilities:

Our staff provided cost consulting, program management, project budget development and management, architect and GC procurement, design management and on-site construction management services.

Fox Studios – Building 226

Century City, California

Renovation of existing basement office and storage space into post-production editing suites and a digital imaging room, along with renovation of the first and second floors in to leasable production office space. The total renovation area was 14,100 SF. Renovation was completed within the confines of the operating 20th Century Fox Studios lot and immediately adjacent to an operating screening theater.

We have extensive experience providing tenant coordination and tenant improvement management services.  We offer strategic and focused support to landlords and tenants including:

  • Assisting with the development of tenant work exhibits
  • Project budgeting and scheduling
  • Procurement and bidding of T.I. contractors for both landlord and tenant build-outs
  • T.I. design document review to ensure drawings are coordinated with core/shell infrastructure and core/shell building specifics
  • Oversight of field work to ensure compliance with cost, schedule and quality expectations
  • Oversight of T.I. construction to ensure compliance with core/shell building standards

Responsibilities:

Our staff assisted Mr. Neuman with:

  • Gathering and filtering information critical to the planning process, including researching jurisdictional issues
  • Investigating opportunities and constraints related to future development
  • Analyzing prospects for sustainable development
  • Generating graphics, maps and content for inclusion in the final report

Noah’s Ark Gallery at the Skirball Cultural Center is an interactive experience that provides fun and education for children and families. Inside a floor-to-ceiling wooden ark, filled to the rafters with hand-crafted animals, families can play, build, climb, explore, make music and make friends. The permanent gallery was built in Skirball’s Winnick Hall, and was integrated into the building architecture to provide an immersive experience.

Responsibilities:

Our staff provided project and construction management services including complete design and construction coordination. Scope included budget development and management, multiple contractor, artist, consultant, and vendor procurement, coordination and management and construction administration.

Herscher Hall – Skirball Cultural Center

Los Angeles, California

Herscher Hall is the final major building project at the Skirball Cultural Center. Designed by Safdie Architects, the 32,000 SF building was constructed atop an existing parking structure, requiring complex coordination, engineering and planning. The main feature of the building is Guerin Pavilion, a spectacular ballroom with seating for more than 600 that looks onto a lush garden through all glass walls. Additionally, the building includes meeting rooms, a bridal suite, a full kitchen and storage.

Responsibilities:

Our staff provided project and construction management services, including project budget development and maintenance, design management and coordination, contractor and consultant procurement, schedule development and maintenance and construction administration.

East Parking Garage – Skirball Cultural Center

The east parking structure at the Skirball Cultural Center provides parking for more than 500 cars on the east side of Sepulveda Blvd. The structure is designed to follow the contours of the existing slope, stepping down the hill to maximize efficiency and maintain a low profile. With setback retaining walls, the below grade portions of the structure are naturally ventilated and lit.

Wilshire Boulevard Temple – Phase 1A

Los Angeles, California

The Wilshire Boulevard Temple, originally constructed in 1929, includes the Sanctuary, Piness Auditorium, Stalford Hall, and a historic classroom building. The original structures of the campus are on the National Register of Historic Places. The project site is located on a 4 acre mid-Wilshire block, known as Magnin Square.

Phase 1A included renovation of the Sanctuary, construction of a new central plant, life safety improvements to the auditorium, ballroom, and administration spaces, and upgrading the existing surface parking lot, east courtyard, and Davidson Patio. Phase 1A is part of a Master Plan that, when completed, will provide space for on-site program uses that includes nursery, elementary, and religious schools, Temple administration, special event space, and a 450 car parking structure.

Responsibilities:

Our staff provided project and construction management services. The scope included budget development and management, contractor, consultant, and vendor procurement and management and construction administration.
